Created in partnership with LA-based footwear designer Salehe Bembury, the New Balance 2002R 'Water Be The Guide' draws inspiration from the versatile properties of water as a solvent. The upper is expertly crafted with an open pink mesh, accentuated by eye-catching shaggy suede overlays in a vibrant aqua shade. Distinctive contrasting green accents adorn the heel and shearling 'N' logo, lending a pop of color to the design. Additionally, rustic brown leather is tastefully incorporated on the tongue and collar, adding a touch of sophistication. The sneaker offers exceptional comfort with its speckled NERGY foam midsole, ensuring a soft yet supportive feel. Enhanced stability is achieved through the inclusion of a Stability Web TPU shank.

The main problem is that the heel strap is not adjustable and it is cut too short to allow the heel to rest at the intended spot thereby pushing the whole foot forward so toes hang over the front edge. While the length of the footbed is a 9, the useable space is only an 8.5 because the heel strap is cut too short and not adjustable. Order a half size larger than you normally would.

My son age 14, loves these. They fit well, AND YOU CAN PULL THEM ON WITHOUT MESSING WITH THE SHOE LACES. this means you can double tie them, and they do not become undone on you in the middle of the school day.
And they look really nice.

I hadn't worn a pair of Chuck Taylor's for over 40 years and bought them for old times sake. Wow! They handle an orthotic very well and are surprisingly comfortable. They've become my shoe of choice and I wear them most of the time now. It's also great to be able to throw them in the wash with the clothes.
